What to look for when doing your vacuum cleaner comparisons

There is no one perfect vacuum, rather a full line up of excellent machines that may or may not meet your needs.  Certain vacuums are designed better for dealing than carpet and some for hard flooring.  So doing vacuum cleaner comparisons is not so straight forward.  Also, some experts who do complete vacuum cleaner comparisons may have some biases.

Here are some things to consider when shopping for a new vacuum.  First, what type of flooring do you have?  Look a good power heads for carpet and good brushes for tile and hardwood.  You want to make sure that the wood flooring attachment has a good brush so that your floors don’t get scratched.  Suction power is also a key feature for any vacuum cleaner.  The more the better!

If there are allergy sufferers in the home, you may want to choose a bagless vacuum.  This will help keep the dust out of the air.  Also get a vacuum with a HEPA filter in a sealed system.  When doing your vacuum cleaner comparisons, make sure to compare uprights to uprights and canisters to canisters for best results.  Some excellent brands on the market include Miele, Samsung, Rainbow, Dyson, Air Storm, Sharp and Simplicity.  It is important that you do your own due diligence to get exactly what you are looking for.
